A compact inline widget showing who is currently active on the site. Can be placed anywhere — header, sidebar, or page content. Only visible to logged-in users.
️ What it shows
- Named members — members who have opted in to be shown with their name appear as a clickable link directly to their profile page
- Anonymous members — members who have opted in anonymously appear as Anonymer Teilnehmer without any link
- Guest visitors — non-logged-in visitors are shown by their origin info (hostname or bot name) as a link to the configured WHOIS service
- Empty state — if no public profiles are active, a neutral "Keine öffentlichen Profile online." message is shown
- Admin extras — administrators additionally see a
...button that opens the full administrative Activity Log inline below the widget
⚙️ How it works
- Active window — a visitor counts as online if their
last_seentimestamp is within the last 10 minutes (600 seconds) - Deduplication — each user or IP appears at most once, even if they generated multiple log entries
- Max entries — the maximum number of displayed entries is configurable in the WhoIsMember settings (default: 10)
- Caching — the query result is cached for 30 seconds to avoid repeated database hits on busy sites
- Opt-in only — a member only appears in the list if they have explicitly enabled visibility (named or anonymous) in their own profile privacy settings
